School Business Manager

(26 hrs per week, term time only plus 3 additional weeks and INSET days)

Permanent contract

Hilperton C of E Primary School is looking to recruit a permanent School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and complement our supportive, hard-working and friendly staff team.

We are a village school on a lovely site overlooking fields on the outskirts of Trowbridge. Currently, there are 142 children in 5 classes across the school.  We are a collaborative, close-knit team, known as ‘The Hilperton Team’ with a great work ethic, always there to help and support each other.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management, organisation and efficient operation of the school so that the Headteacher and other members of the Senior Leadership Team can focus on teaching, learning and school improvement. The main areas of responsibility are:

• financial management and accounting processes;
• human resources;
• site and premises management;
• contracts management;
• marketing;
• Health and Safety
• all administrative aspects of the school

This position is being offered on a 26 hours per week, term time only contract plus 3 additional weeks during the school holidays. We are committed to appointing the right candidate for this position and so we are willing to be flexible on how these hours might be delivered across the week.

The role will be based in our front office working alongside our administration team. We are a small school and a close working team and so it’s vital that the successful candidate is personable, with a good sense of humour and a keen team player. We very much look forward to hearing from you.

Hours of work: 26 hrs per week, term time only working 42 weeks per year (plus holiday entitlement). Some remote home working may also be possible.
