We have an in-house Forest School Leader who runs 1:1, small group and whole-class sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Forest School is also open for lunchtime drop-in sessions on these days.

Exploration, wellbeing and child-led learning are at the heart of Forest School, with sessions tailored to the interests and needs of each group—meaning no two sessions are ever the same. Through games, crafts, wildlife exploration and hands-on outdoor experiences, children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and curiosity in a supportive environment.

Children learn to be safe and be ready in Forest School by following our simple reminder: “No lick, no pick, watch out for that stick!” They are encouraged to be kind to themselves, to others and to the natural environment, while learning how to take appropriate risks, solve problems and work together.

We believe every child should have the opportunity to experience Forest School during their time at Hilperton.
