“We soar high on wings like eagles”

PSHE

Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE)
At Hilperton Primary, our PSHE curriculum plays a central role in supporting children's personal development, wellbeing and sense of belonging. A key focus of our curriculum is helping children develop a strong sense of self-worth. We also place a strong emphasis on emotional resilience and emotional literacy. Children are taught how to:
  • Identify and name their feelings
  • Manage emotions in a healthy way
  • Support their own and others' mental health and wellbeing
These skills help children to grow into kind, confident and capable individuals.
We follow the Jigsaw PSHE scheme, a comprehensive and carefully-sequenced programme designed to support all learners, regardless of gender, background or ability. Through PSHE, we give children the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to:
  • Understand themselves and their emotions
  • Build positive relationships
  • Make healthy choices
  • Thrive as positive, respectful members of society
We aim to prepare our children for the challenges and opportunities of life in our world today.
